This beautiful, traditional style farmhouse resides in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and features outstanding views of the neighboring Mt. Chocorua. The property has been the home to a farmhouse since 1788, and when the original structure disintegrated beyond repair, the owners and the folks over at TMS Architects decided it would be right to pay it homage.
The outcome was a stark, classic farmhouse rich in tradation, fitted with modern energy efficient elements. The home utilizes the sun’s power with solar panels on the south-facing roof. The owner of the home vowed to maintain sustainable business practices throughout the project.
The use of local materials and the help of local craftsmen made this fusion home a shining reality. In the words of TMS, “this farmhouse proves that green can be beautiful.” In 2008, this home won a AIANH Excellence in Architecture Design Award for its simple details and sustainable features.
TMS Architects are based in Portsmouth, NH and have designed homes all over the New England area.
